(Ventura, CA)—The Ventura Music Festival is presenting a free, post-Thomas Fire “Concert for Ventura” on Sunday, February 25, from 3 to 4:30 pm in Mission Park—on Main Street across from Mission San Buenaventura in Downtown Ventura. Open to all, the goal is to celebrate Ventura’s indomitable spirit through one of life’s biggest unifiers—the gift of live music.
The stellar music lineup includes Grammy®-nominated singer-songwriter Perla Batalla and two Grammy® award-winners—guitar virtuoso Diego Garcia and jazz fusion all-stars Tom Scott & the LA Express—plus VMF Artistic Director Nuvi Mehta, the Ventura College Singers led by Brent Wilson, and a secret guest artist or two.
“To the residents who lost their homes in the Thomas Fire and to all the organizations and people who helped them, we hope our special family-friendly ‘Concert for Ventura’ is another communal activity and important healing tool that celebrates the best in our community as neighbors come together to relax, listen and share the experience,” said VMF Executive Director Susan Scott. “Everyone is invited to bring their own blankets or chairs, socialize with neighbors and enjoy the spirit-lifting sounds of some of the most talented performers around. The Museum of Ventura County is next door and open all day, so people can come early and enjoy that experience too.”
Concert for Ventura co-sponsors include The Museum of Ventura County, City of Ventura Environmental Sustainability Division, Downtown Ventura Partners and DVO, Searle Creative Communications, Production Navigators, VC Reporter and the Ventura Breeze.
