Academy of St. Martin in the Fields

Monday, March 4, 2013 at 7:30 pm
Ventura High School Theater
2 Catalina Street, Ventura, CA

One of the most famous and recorded orchestras in history brings its signature sound to Ventura! In addition to its over 500 classical recordings, the Academy of St. Martin in the Fields is also recognized through its soundtracks to such films as Amadeus, The English Patient and Titanic.

Two of the world's leading soloists perform with the Academy, leading from their instruments: the 2011 MacArthur Foundation “Genius” Grant recipient, Alisa Weilerstein, the first cellist in thirty years to sign as a recording artist with the exclusive Decca label, and pianist Inon Barnatan, a 2009 Avery Fisher Career Grant recipient, whose album, Darknesse Visible, was named one of the best of 2012 by the New York Times.

Experience two great artists with the orchestra that has all but defined the sound and style of the great masters!
