Together In The Fires Of Delight: Combining provocative texts by famous authors with dance, music and song, choreographer John Malashock presents a series of duets that illuminates the most basic experience that binds us humans together—our relations to other people. The music, both live and recorded, spans classical, folk, art-song, tango and klezmer by diverse composers from Janáček to the present day.

Nuvi Mehta: The Janet and Mark L. Goldenson Artistic Director of the Ventura Music Festival, appears across the globe as a concert violinist and conductor. As a Special Project Director the for San Diego Symphony, he is known for his multi-media Symphony Exposé concert series and “What’s the Score?” talks that draw new audiences to classical music. “Three years ago, John created a duet for a new pop song (Better Days) as part of a multi-media symphony concert and I was reminded of his duets I had enjoyed in the past. Selecting a few of my favorites, we crafted a brand new dance evening exploring relationships, based on one he originally created in 2001. I hope you enjoy it.”

John Malashock, Artistic Director for Malashock Dance, which he founded in 1988 in San Diego after a distinguished performing career with Twyla Tharp and ABT, has created over 70 choreographic works, dance/theater collaborations, theater and opera productions and dance films.

Lee Ann Manley was awarded the Princess Grace, Robin Williams, Dame Helen Hayes and Theater Bay Area Critics awards for her extensive stage work. Recently seen in On Golden Pond and Bakersfield Mist at Ojai Art Center Theater, she is also an acting coach, acupuncturist and Feng Shui specialist.

Peter Strauss, star of film (The Last Tycoon), TV (The Jericho Mile) and theater (The Trial of the Catonsville Nine at LA’s Mark Taper) just wrapped a major feature film Operation Finale with Ben Kingsley and Oscar Isaac for director Chris Weitz.
