Importance of Music
Research has shown that studying music improves children’s ability to learn. Just listening to classical music can have a positive effect on behavior and can stimulate new neuron growth in the brain.
The arts, which deal with larger human truths, also teach young people the value of work and discipline. Children who are involved in music do better overall in school, and research has shown that children who are exposed to music do significantly better in math and science.
They do better on standardized tests, improve their self-esteem and have fewer discipline problems.
