On tour from Italy, Federico Mondelci is a leading saxophonist on the international scene with performances in Germany, Spain, Russia and Japan. In Italy, he has performed as soloist with all the major orchestras, including the Orchestra Filarmonica della Scala at La Scala, Milan. A master of musical styles ranging from tango to classical, Mr. Mondelci’s Festival “Classical Meets Jazz” program features compositions by D’Rivera, Creston and Piazzolla.
“Mondelci brings a rich, jazzy appeal to Piazzolla’s hauntingly beautiful melo- dies; he seems to have a real feel for the music’s power and gustiness, as well as its gentle tenderness.” - New York Times
